National Junior Para Swimming Championships 2023, Coventry, June 17th – 18th, 2023

Written by Suzanne Smelt Three of BOK’s top junior para swimmers took to the water in this annual high-level meet, aimed at increasing participation and providing talent development opportunities for young disabled swimmers. They certainly put BOK on the map with some very strong swims and excellent results. Daniel Jackson (S10), Isaac Johnstone (S6) and Evie Lambert (S9) swam to beat their pbs in events across the board and also returned home with some well-deserved medals! As a club, BOK certainly made its mark, with, what must be, a ‘season’s best’ number of medals and some outstanding swims from up-and-coming younger swimmers. NW Region Special Olympics swimming successes

The club had 56 swimmers enter a total of 316 events. Over the 3 weekends of competition many swimmers achieved personal best times. Excellent results at the Masters National Championships!

The Swim England National Masters Championship (25m) took place at Ponds Forge in Sheffield from 28th -30th October. 14 members of the KAL Swim Performance Masters squad took part in the event represent Borough of Kirklees Swimming Club. A wide range of individual events were entered, as well as 6 relay teams. A total of 3 Silver, 2 Bronze and 9 top 10 places were achieved. One of the Silver medals came in the 4×100 Mixed Medley Relay team, made up of Beatrix Langara, Daniel Cross, Stephen Bottomley & Sarah Coatsworth.
