BOK was represented at this high-level meet, at Ponds Forge, by a strong cohort of young swimmers from the Performance Squad. With the long course season in full swing, some swimmers were aiming for NER times, whilst others were trying their best to gain times which might enable them to get a place on the constantly updated rankings lists for the Summer English Nationals and British competitions.
Competitors:
Astrid Carroll, Louis Cass, Nicholas Cass, Luke Clegg, Eben Cousin, Isabel Farmer, Daniel Jackson, Sam Jackson, Imogen Jones, Henry King, Ruby Knight, Will Knight, Molly Marsh, Lachlan Munro, Jack McClelland, James Plant, Henry Priestley, Poppy Nuttman, Andrew Teale, Eleanor Valentine-Bull
All the hours of training paid off with some impressive results across every stroke, and in sprint and distance races. Many entry times were broken, showing consistency in progress for many swimmers. Jack McClelland and Henry Priestley stole the show for improving their entry times across the board and Henry topped his string of pbs by knocking 10+ seconds off his 400 IM time! Andrew Teale also shaved off a mighty 6 seconds in 800 free. The only BOK swimmer to compete in the gruelling 200 fly was Sam Jackson and he improved upon his already fast entry time; Lachlan broke 4.30 for his 400 free and Imogen Jones continued to make strides in her backstroke events.
Go team BOK!
And to round off the week-end, Poppy Nuttman was awarded a medal for being placed as 3rd most successful girl in the 13 years age category, and multi-medal winner Daniel Jackson gained the accolade of top boy in the 17 years and over group. Well done Poppy and Daniel!
Thank-you to the coaches and team managers for all their valuable input and support over the weekend.
