On 11 May we had 10 swimmers entered for the NW Regional Gala in Liverpool for a full day of events. The team amassed a wonderful 4 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze, 6 PBs between them, and the female relay team secured a gold medal. Medals were presented at a celebration social event the following Friday, hosted by Ruben Reuter and his parents at Shabang in Slaithwaite. Each swimmer also received an “Inspirational Swimmer Award” for their achievements over the past year.

Read more →Eight members of the squad travelled to Beverley for the Y&H Special Olympics regional competition on 2 March. The event was excitedly anticipated due to the fact that para gold medalist Ellie Simmonds was attending, and it was also our newest member of the squad, Waleed’s, first competitive event. Read more →8 October, Ponds Forge Written by Suzanne Smelt Performance Squad swimmer, Daniel Jackson, was selected to represent Yorkshire at the annual County Championships, a great team event which is fun but highly competitive, with each English county vying for the number 1 spot! Yorkshire did not disappoint, claiming the victory, with Daniel helping his county in its success with a tremendous 100 breaststroke race, coming 7th and with a superb pb that would have earnt him a BOK record had he been representing BOK!
