Swimmers dive into the pool

Written by Suzanne Smelt

Three of BOK’s top junior para swimmers took to the water in this annual high-level meet, aimed at increasing participation and providing talent development opportunities for young disabled swimmers. They certainly put BOK on the map with some very strong swims and excellent results.

Daniel Jackson (S10), Isaac Johnstone (S6) and Evie Lambert (S9) swam to beat their pbs in events across the board and also returned home with some well-deserved medals!

Dan swam in 2 events, achieving pbs in both, and took off 4 seconds from his previous 100 free time! Isaac swam in 3 events, again resulting in pbs for all his races, including 8 seconds off his 100 free and won a gold medal for 50 fly! Evie smashed her pbs in 5 out of 6 of her swims, taking a massive 10 seconds off 400 free! Evie scooped no less than 5 bronze medals in 50, 100 and 400 free, 100 fly and 200 IM. Tremendous!

Huge thanks to coach Michael for his support, racing advice and useful feedback as always. BOK is very excited to watch these swimmers progress and develop their talents further.
