Special Olympic Y&H Regional – November 2019

It is easy to come away from a gala and feel proud of your swimmers but today I was humbled to be a part of this team. We arrived in Harrogate for the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional competition and a full programme – 17 teams and 170 swimmers taking part. Four of our seven swimmers were progressing from 25m races to 50m races, not the easiest of transitions, especially in backstroke event where the turn is in shallow water and backwards (easy to stop or put your foot down!!). BOK swimmer selected to represent Yorkshire at Inter- County Competition

BOK are very proud to share with you that Chloe Hirst has for a 2nd Year being asked to put on her Yorkshire Team hat to join other top Yorkshire swimmers competing on 6th October at National County Teams competition. Good Luck Chloe! Further more to show things are going her way this year – having completed her GCSE’s this summer and moving onto College Chloe has also been selected work towards the ‘Aquatic Diploma in Sporting Excellence’. British Summer Championships and ASA English Summer Nationals 2019 Results

BRITISH SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS- Following the qualifying window in March- May Swimmers were invited to compete based on national rankings. The top 24 in each age group and event were invited to compete at the Summer Championships in July, with the exception of the 800m and 1500m events where the only top 18 are invited. BOK are very proud in 2019 to have 7 British Championship qualifiers plus our ladies 4x 200m free relay team. Scottish National Open Championships 2019- 27-30 June

Aberdeen Sports Village- AberdeenLevel 1 LC Squads competing- SP In late June 4 BOK senior Squad swimmers travelled North to Aberdeen to compete at the Scottish National Open Championships 2019.
