The summer of 2022 was a sizzling summer of swimming as a cohort of BOK swimmers raced against the best in the country at national-level events. These top-ranking athletes earned their invited places to the British Summer Championships (July 22-28 2022) based on rankings from their performances at level 1 meets from March to May 2022.
BOK is hugely proud, that the following swimmers qualified to race in these individual and team relay events:
British Championships Qualifiers
Emily Brook 100 fly; Rory Bryant and Louis Cass 4×100 boys 14-16 years free relay; Astrid Carroll MC 100 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 200IM; Maisie Catt MC 100 back; Luke Clegg 400 free, 200 breast, 200 and 400 IM; Chloe Hirst 200IM; Isabel Farmer 50 free and 4×100 girls 14-16 years free relay; Evie Lambert MC 100 free, 100 fly, 200 IM; Daniel Jackson 50 free, 50 fly, 100 and 200 breast, 200 and 400 IM and 4×100 boys 14-16 years free relay; Ruby Knight and Emily Oliver 4×100 girls 14-16 years free relay; James Plant 800 free and 4×100 boys 14-16 years free relay; Jessica Smelt 100 and 400 free, 50 and 100 fly and 4×100 girls 14-16 years free relay; Martin Smith 50, 100 and 200 breast; Georgina Wright 50, 100 and 200 free and 50 breast.
There were some outstanding individual results, with swimmers earning a place in finals and impressively beating their entry times.
Astrid won three final spots and totally overturned her entry time by five seconds in 100 back. Evie stormed to fifth in the MC 100 fly final. With prowess in every stroke, Daniel finalled in four of his races and was reserve finalist in 200 breast; in the 400IM he came an impressive fifth and obliterated his entry time by six seconds! Jessica made it to three finals, coming fourth in 100 free and smashing her entry time in 400 free. Georgina impressed with strong swimming in the 100 free final.
Both relay heats were thrilling as each swimmer gave 100% and more for their teams!
