A Great Performance at City of Leeds, Summer Long Course Meet – June 2022

Written by Helen Priestley.

BOK swimmers from Junior Performance 1 and 2 alongside our experienced swimmers from Regional Performance had a great weekend at this popular meet.

As we near the end of the season, we saw a great team spirit with fast, competitive swimming and a host of PBs across all squads. This was a great opportunity for our younger swimmers to experience a 50 metre long course event and appreciate the different demands this brings.

For our more experienced squad members, the importance of pacing and well executed starts and turns was a key learning. The insights, motivation and detailed feedback from Coaches Adrian and Josh was brilliant and continues to help our swimmers learn so much to apply in both training and future races.

Alongside PBs and the great attitude across the squad, we saw a host of medals with standout performances from our young JP2 squad as follows:-

Hussein Kesserwan 50 Free (Gold), 100 Fly (Silver); Jack Wade 50 Breast (Gold), 100 Breast (Silver); Paige Borland 100 Back (Silver), 50 Back (Bronze); Phillip Lanagara 50 Free (Bronze)

With Evie Lambert (4 Gold Para 9), and Flo Hobson 100 Back (Silver) also adding to the medal count from other squads.
