White Rose Junior Swimming League
The swimmers from Borough of Kirklees entered the White Rose Junior Swimming League again for the first time in a number of years. All the swimmers had been looking forward to the event that opens the swimming calendar for a few weeks and you could tell they were revved up and ready to race.
The swimmers performed really well individually ans as a team, winning the close ones and fighting for places in every swim from the youngest swimmers to the oldest. It was great to see everyone putting everything on the line for what was to be a great result.
After working so hard it came down to several relays at the end of the session, which left all the spectators and swimmers wanting more of the same.
I can’t highlight any one individual for an outstanding performance. All the swimmers need and equal pat on the back for standing up and being counted. I am very proud of all the swimmers who competed on the night.
So, well done to all, this is just the start of an exciting journey and returning BoK back to where they rightfully belong as a major player in swimming in Yorkshire, North East Region and Nationally.
The results were:
City of Leeds – 320
BOROUGH OF KIRKLEES – 252
City Of Sheffield – 216
Doncaster – 187
York City Baths – 150
Kingston Upon Hull – 145
I would also like to thanks the staff, team managers and our timekeepers who were fantastic on the night looking after the swimmers and making sure they were all in the right place at the right time.
Another step in the World Class decisions that we and KAL Swim Performance and Borough of Kirklees are making….You should be proud!!
