Performance Swimming in Kirklees

Synchro Competitions

There are two strands for competing in synchronised swimming:

Recreational strand

Despite its name, the recreational strand is competitve. Swimmers have the opportunity to compete for medals and trophies in solo, duet and team performances, with BOK Synchronettes.

Talented swimmers may be invited for extra training and to compete in the Competitive strand with City of Leeds Synchronised Swimming Club. However, these swimmers will still be eligible to compete for BOK Synchronettes in recreational competitions. Swimmers will be given more information if this applies to them.

Competition kit list

Swimmers are expected to attend all competitions in club kit and with all the equipment they need to compete.

You can download the Competition kit list -updated Feb 2017.

What to expect from recreational competitions

In a nutshell:

  • Registration – on the day, all competitors must register by the time stated, this can be early morning.
  • Figures – black costumes and white hats are required for figures.
  • Warm up – club warm up costumes should be worn.
  • Parent/guardian helpers – we need volunteers to help out so that the competition can go ahead.
  • Hair and make-up – for the competition, girls whose hair is long enough will be gelled into a bun.

Helping out at competitions

The club is run by volunteers and competitions are only possible thanks to the generous help of parents and guardians. During competitions we need a volunteer from each swimmer’s family to take on one of the competition roles detailed. Training will be given where necessary. Thank you for your continued support.
